Location, location, location. That's the first thing that attracted me to Mercure Bangkok Sukhumvit 24.
The other is Vue - a rooftop bar that, as the name suggests, offers one of the best views of Bangkok. I just love rooftop bars when I visit a city. I like to admire the city from above while enjoying a cold drink or two. Another great thing about Vue is the pool next to the bar which creates a really cool atmosphere!
The third thing is that Mercure Bangkok is part of the Accor Group and I am a member of their Accor Live Limitless program. With more than 5,100 hotels in 100 countries, there's always something they can book and earn points for during their stay. Based on the good reviews from previous guests, I had to check it out for myself.

Mercure Bangkok is located at 5, 1 Sukhumvit Soi 24 Khlong Tan, Khlong Toei.
Phrom Phong BTS Station is 100 meters from the hotel, and the luxury EmQuartier shopping center is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Phrom Phong to Asok is a 2-minute easy walk or a 2-minute BTS ride to Terminal 21.
Our favorite street food restaurant, Im Chan, is located on Sukhumvit 37 and serves good and affordable Thai food. We have been eating there since 2013 when we first discovered it while exploring Sukhumvit Road.
Mercure Bangkok Sukhumvit 24
What struck me upon arriving at the property was the expansive, lush green lawn in front of the private main entrance/driveway. Soi 24 is a busy area with so much greenery that it's like stepping into your own private oasis.
Mercure's sestrinski hotelHotel Ibis(also part of the Accor group) is to the left of the main entrance with a small 7/11 convenience store on the right.

When you enter reception, the well-located and beautifully designed deli bar is on the left and leads to the ibis reception. The concierge desk is on the right. Then you enter the reception on the left and the colorful and elegant living room on the right. I really like the bright and inviting reception area, especially after a long flight.
If you are an Accor member, you can check in online before your arrival to speed up the check-in and check-out process.
Mercure Bangkok Sukhumvit has 201 well-appointed rooms on 9 floors from the 20th to the 29th floor. Mercure hotels are ideal for business and tourist travelers.

After a quick check-in and key handover, I went to my room on the 27th floor. As soon as I opened the door, I was once again struck by the bright and cheerful decor, which immediately attracted me to the large windows overlooking Bangkok at night.
The bathroom has a large glass window that overlooks the sleeping area. So if you don't want to draw the curtains, you can enjoy the view of Bangkok while you shower.
Modern wallpaper covers the wall behind the minibar, and an open wardrobe adds a new dimension to the room and makes it bigger. There is also a safe, ironing board and iron.
A kettle, tea, coffee and free mineral water are available. The minibar is equipped with all the delicacies you could want during your stay.
A welcome letter and free snacks are available.
Along with the table and chairs, there is also a classy yellow sofa bed with an ottoman, perfect for relaxing after a day spent watching TV and sightseeing. As I was busy, there were outlets near the table to charge all my devices.
The large double bed was comfortable and the bedding was luxurious, perfect for a restful sleep.
The bathroom is spacious and equipped with luxury toiletries.

Mercure Bangkok Sukhumvit 24 also has a gym on the same floor as the pool and Vue Bar.

Vue Bar is the place you want to be during the day and especially at sunset. After a busy day in Bangkok, you can relax by the pool.

I had the best vegetarian Pad Thai here while enjoying the beautiful view and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

The Market Restaurant serves breakfast every morning from 6:30 to 10:30.
If you are looking for meeting rooms, Mercure Bangkok Sukhumvit 24 has 3 meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 60 people.

excellent location
New hotel, with friendly staff, the location is perfect, 100m from Phrom Phong BTS 7-11, right next to the lobby, which is a plus because since July 11th, you can still buy some food when it rains. The rooms are spacious and clean, thanks to the housekeeping. Hardware and software are in perfect condition and work well.

General information about Bangkok
Bangkok Airport Taxi Details(Suvarnabhumi Airport)
When you arrive at the airport, go to the taxi stand. There is a machine there where you can enter your information. The printed receipt will show you which taxi stand you are going to.
A taxi from Bangkok to the Mercure Hotel should not exceed 500 baht.
The tolls are 50 THB, 25 THB and 50 THB (airport toll) – I suggest you have a small baht for the toll. Tell the taxi driver that you will be paying the toll in cash and that the meter will show around 285 to 310 THB depending on the time of day.
