Introduction | data concentrator (2023)

The OpenAPI standard is a widely used design and documentation approach for APIs. In the past we published our RESTful APIs under the Rest.li standard, which is used internally by LinkedIn and which we have inherited since the beginning of the project.

Rest.li is a very stubborn framework that hasn't found widespread acceptance in the open source community, so users are often not familiar with the best ways to interact with these endpoints. To facilitate integration with DataHub, we are releasing a set of OpenAPI-based endpoints.

(Video) Smart Data Concentrator Evaluation Module Overview

OpenAPI endpoints are currently isolated in a servlet on the GMS and are automatically deployed with a GMS server. The servlet includes automatic generation of an OpenAPI user interface, also known as Swagger, available at<host-servidor-GMS>:<puerto-GMS>/openapi/swagger-ui/index.htmlThis is also served through the DataHub interface as a proxy with the same endpoint, but the host and port of the GMS replaced by the DataHub interface URL is available as a link in the top right dropdown under the user profile picture. Note that you can get the raw json or yaml formats from the OpenAPI specification by navigating to<baseUrl>/openapi/v3/api-docsÖ<baseUrl>/openapi/v3/api-docs.yamlRaw forms can be fed into Codegen systems to generate client-side code in the language of your choice that supports the OpenAPI format. We have seen different levels of maturity with different languages in these code generation systems, so some may require customization to be fully supported.

(Video) Communication Concentrator

The OpenAPI UI includes fully documented exploitable schemas for request and response objects. Templates used in the OpenAPI UI are automatically generated at compile time from PDL templates to JSON schema compliant Java templates.

The models can be used programmatically via the Java Rest Emitter, which contains the generated models. A minimal Java project to output to OpenAPI endpoints would need the following dependencies (Gradle format):

What is a data concentrator? ›

A data concentrator is the core of data and energy management in an AMI. It provides the technology to measure and collect energy usage data. The concentrator can also be programmed to analyze and communi- cate this information to the central utility database.

What is concentrator in data communication? ›

A device that merges many low-speed asynchronous channels into one or more high-speed synchronous channels to achieve economies of data transmission.

What is the function of data concentrator? ›

Data concentrators are used to concentrate the communication and management of a set of smart meters into one single device, facilitating the gathering of the information from the smart meters, grouping the communications to them, and therefore reducing the cost of the overall operations.

What is DCU in aircraft? ›

DCU collects analog, discrete and digital data from various avionic and aircraft systems. DCU accomplishes necessary measurements, computations and any logical operations then presents concentrated information to use of avionics and aircraft systems with analog, discrete and digital communication.

What is DCU in electrical? ›

Overview. AEC's Data Concentrator Unit (DCU) is the backbone of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) that helps in data acquisition, transfer of energy data to the central database, and automated meter reading in electronic energy meters. DCUs are primarily used in low voltage electric power systems.

Why do planes use 28 VDC? ›

If the electrical system were regulated to 12 or 24 volts, the battery would not recharge during flight. A 28-volt system is generally more efficient than a 14-volt system because the same amount of electrical power can be carried in smaller wires. Remember, usable electrical power is the combination of volts and amps.

Why do aircraft use 400Hz power? ›

With 400 Hz, airplanes require fewer generators or alternators to produce a sufficient amount of power. This reduces their total weight, thereby making it easier for airplanes to take off. If airplanes used a lower power frequency, they would require more generators or alternators, thus increasing their total weight.

Why does the military use 400Hz? ›

So for the short distances involved in aircraft, and the advantage of smaller and lighter transformers, motors and filter capacitors, 400Hz was adopted, particularly for military aircraft: MIL-STD-704F states: “Equipment designed for use on military aircraft should not use 60 Hz power, since it requires more weight and ...

Why 115v is used in aircraft? ›

Running at 115v 400Hz allows the use of smaller transformers. Less energy has to be stored in the transformer core per cycle, so the core can be smaller. A smaller core means a lighter transformer, and reducing weight is a good thing in an aircraft.

What is VMO and VL? ›

The SCADA systems are of four types are Monolithic SCADA system, Distributed SCADA system, Networked SCADA system, and IoT SCADA system.

Why you should opt out of smart meter? ›

Smart Meters generate both radio frequency (RF) radiation and electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation. This "electrosmog" is an extremely hazardous environmental pollutant responsible for many health problems.

Will a smart meter work without Internet? ›

All smart meters use a national wireless communication network to send information to your energy supplier. So, even if you do not have an internet connection in your home, a smart meter will still work.

Are there 2 types of smart meters? ›

There are two main types of smart meters - the older models known as SMETS 1 (Smart Meter Equipment Technical Specifications) and the newer versions that were rolled out in 2018, known as SMETS 2. This specification is more advanced and meters were first rolled out in 2018.

What is the difference between PMU and PDC? ›

The Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) is a device that allows synchronized measurement of the voltage and current of electrical systems in microseconds. The PMUs are installed in substations of the power system and their measurements are sent to be processed by the Phasor Data Concentrator (PDC).

How does a PMU work? ›

A phasor measurement unit (PMU) measures the phasor values of current and voltage. These values get a high precision time stamp and together with the values of power frequency, power frequency change rate and optional binary data that are also time stamped are transmitted to a central analysis station.

Why is phasor important? ›

One good use of phasors is for the summing of sinusoids of the same frequency. Sometimes it is necessary when studying sinusoids to add together two alternating waveforms, for example in an AC series circuit, that are not in-phase with each other.
