Here's a quick rundown of everything important in the FFXIV 6.4 patch notes.

Final Fantasy 6.4 Patchnotizen
This patch is part of the long-awaited final chapter of the Anabaseios Pandaemonium raid phase. Contains a continuation of the quest line and 4 new general attacks to watch out for.
However, you will have to be patient with Savage. The Anabaseios Savage tier will open next week on May 30th, which also marks the start of another world #1 competition.
So if you're interested in participating or releasing in the first week, be sure to put your ladies on the hat.
This patch also introduces the next chapter of the main quest scenario, which could also mean the end of the current story after Doomwalker.
From now on, the story will change as usual, moving into the next expansion, 7.0, which is expected to be released early next year.
Part of MSQ, as always, is a new dungeon called Aetherfont and a trial version, The Void Cast Dias, which will also be available on hard difficulty after the first completion.
Changes to class balance in PvE
Before we get into the big changes, we need to talk about the changes happening across the board.
Most team abilities now have 30 yamas instead of 15 yamas. This means they should now cover most of the battle space depending on the arena.
Additionally, there are a few small changes here and there to better align the individual damage of some classes with others. And the samurai somehow got stronger so they could be top DPS again.

But we see the biggest changes within the character. While the Dark Knight has been the king when it comes to raw damage during the Endwalker patch cycle, the others haven't received the boost they need to keep up.

Why they felt the need to improve the Warrior despite its already insane survivability is beyond us, but you can read the developers' reasoningHere.
Dragoons are the only class that has seen a major overhaul. However, it does not cause crazy fans. Still, it's the best DPS in recent months.
The main changes in Dragoon are in the core gameplay. Previously, Dragun's various jumping abilities would keep him stuck for a while.
Now these jumps only have a visual indicator and do not change the player's position. This means they can now also be run at bind time.

changes in the quality of life
The new Final Fantasy XIV patch also brings some UI and gameplay improvements.
One of the smaller but very welcome changes is the ability to display job icons next to player name tiles and/or in group chat. They can also color their names according to their role in parties and/or party chat.
To access this option, simply click on "Character Configuration" > "Display Name Settings" > "General" and you will find all the options.
Now your name tag may look like it did in 1.0 without selected Linkshell banners, but we are here.
Another small but appreciated change is the ability to beautify everything everywhere at once when using this feature in the inn.
For example, if you want to quickly change your glasses, but they are stored on your cabinet or rack, you can access them directly without interacting with either of them.
Additional content added
While looters and MSQ fans are well equipped with this patch, let's not forget about the more casual stuff. Some of these weren't included in patch 6.4, but there are still some things to look forward to.
The first is the expansion of the contents of the island sanctuary. Added new levels that unlock more features for your shelter. This creates a new area where you can explore and collect materials, as well as craft and farm new things.

We must not forget the best content of Final Fantasy XIV: Ocean Fishing. In patch 6.4 you can always go fishing with Hingashi. The only limitation is that you must complete the main mission, Blood of the Storm.
With this new route, Ruby Route players can complete new sailing missions and catch new fish! Of course, there will be new bonuses, achievements and rewards for completing content.
What else is in Final Fantasy XIV 6.4 and above?
Patch 6.45 content will be available in the next 2-3 months. This includes the next chapter of the Hildibrand adventure quest as well as the next step in Relic Weapons.
This patch also includes the next step for the Splendourous Tools master/collector, which can be obtained by completing various missions in the Crystarium.
With patch 6.45, we'll also finally see new content for the limited blue mage class. The level cap will be raised to level 80 and new spells, experiments, attacks and challenges will be available for new unique rewards.
Last but not least, this patch will also include the next dungeon variant and default dungeon: Loken Hills.
Variant Dungeon is a free-choice adventure where players explore branching stories. While Criterion Dungeon in its normal and especially Savage versions is a challenging 4-player affair.
